A prayerful, age-appropriate way for young people to “break open the Word” at their level.
What is Sunday Kids?
Every Sunday, all children (PreK through 5th grade) can learn about Jesus in a creative and inspired way. Our Sunday Kids programs are divided into Seedlings (PreK–K), Time Travelers (Grades 1-5), and a children’s message once a month. Our programs are age appropriate, engaging, and fun. We would love to see you and your family this Sunday! Contact Vicki Schwoob with your questions.
Seedlings is our early childhood program for children, pre-K to kindergarten, during the 9am Mass. To participate, bring them to the designated side room of the hall before Mass and pick them up afterward. Children learn about Jesus by reflecting on the Sunday Bible readings that adults listen to in the church.
Registration is required. Click here for our page with registration forms.
Time Travelers is our children’s liturgy of the word program during our 9am Mass for students in 1st through 5th grade. This is a prayerful, fun, and age appropriate way for young people to reflect on the Bible passages read that day. To participate, simply come to the church as usual. After the opening prayer, the priest invites the children forward for a blessing, and they follow their leader to a side room. They hear the readings proclaimed, they discuss them, and they pray. Children then rejoin their families in the church for rest of the hour.
On the third Sunday of the month, children remain in the church for the 9am Mass. After the Bible readings are proclaimed, the priest invites them to join him in front of the altar for a conversation. Of course, we allow the adults to listen in. (On such Sundays, the children’s message is in place of Time Travelers.)
